The Project Office

The Project Office are a boutique project management company based in Christchurch who focus on construction and infrastructure projects. Their brief to us to was to showcase the scale of their projects, but also to present their team and approach to business.

The design is based on an architectural style. The style nods to the mid-century aesthetic, and to modern minimalist design. We placed a real emphasis on typography and grid – in fact visible grid lines make the structure of the site a design feature. Diagonal lines help illustrate how the grid is proportioned vertically. 

We retained a very simple colour palette. Subtle typography remains in service to the content. The type hierarchy is well proportioned, and does the job without drawing attention to itself. We also art directed all photography and rewrote all site content from scratch.

This refreshed visual identity was extended into a truly responsive design based on a flexible grid, scaling vertically and horizontally for multiple devices. We used vector graphics for brand elements so they look great on high pixel density displays. CSS3 transitions and animations add depth to the interactivity and again work across multiple devices.

The Project Office’s new digital identity has since been rolled back into wider brand collateral.

Digital identity

We created a new digital identity for the company that they have since rolled into their other marketing collateral. Online, we commissioned strong, architectural photography to showcase The Project Office’s work and used a simple, structured layout to lead visitors through the content.
